📹Fakenham's upgraded CCTV system is now operational!

Following the recent upgrade of CCTV in the town, the fully monitored system is now operational, providing enhanced CCTV coverage to support community safety across Fakenham.

Need CCTV footage?

All CCTV footage is held by the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk. Fakenham Town Council does not have access to the recordings.

The correct route for requesting footage depends on the circumstances:

Crime or suspected crime

If a crime has occurred, including a fail-to-stop incident, please report it to the police. Where appropriate, the police can request CCTV footage directly as part of their investigation.

Insurance or legal matter

Where the police are not involved, such as a minor collision or civil matter, your solicitor or insurance company can request relevant footage using a Section 35 request. A fee is payable for the release of footage.

Footage showing yourself

If you want to request footage of yourself, you can make a Subject Access Request. This is free of charge, but you will need to provide proof of identity. Any footage provided must protect the identities of other people.

CCTV recordings are normally kept for around 28 days before being automatically overwritten, unless there is a specific reason for them to be retained for longer.
