Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) Consultation: - Inappropriate and inconsiderate vehicle use causing vehicle related Anti-Social Behaviour
The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 was introduced to provide revised legislation to deal with antisocial activities. As part of the Norfolk Police initiative ‘Operation Octane’ the Council have been asked to designate 4 public space protection orders to restrict the antisocial and inappropriate use of motor vehicles in urban centres. Examples of behaviour include racing, dough nutting on car parks and large unauthorised gatherings of motor vehicles.
This forms part of a wider expanse of PSPO restrictions established by our local authority partners in Norfolk to maintain a consistent approach to combat this type of cross boundary antisocial behaviour.
Further information regarding these PSPOs and Operation Octane can be examined and viewed on the North Norfolk District Council consultation web page: https://www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/tasks/environmental-protection/psposinconsiderate-and-inappropriate-vehicle-use/
